　とたのむ。被験者は自身の左手を見えない位置に置く。
②テーブルの上に、ふくらませて人間の手にそっくりのゴム手袋を置く。
③テーブルの下の被験者の左手と、テーブルの上のゴム手袋とを、同時に指で「トントントン」と刺激する。
　これを３０秒つづける。
④おもむろに金槌を取り出して、ゴム手袋をたたきつぶす。
⑤９９．９％の被験者は、自分の手がつぶされたと思って、驚いてテーブルの下の左手を引っ込める。
⑥のこりの０．１％の被験者は、驚くが、左手はピクリとも動かさない。
　この０．１％の人間が、意識を持たない人間だそうだ。
